DERRICK VELASQUEZ / Obstructed View

This is the final week to see Derrick Velasquez's remarkable show "Obstructed View" at the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver, closing Sunday, August 27. His concurrent exhibition at Robischon Gallery "Constant Denial" is equally engaging and uniquely layered - and has just been extended through Saturday, September 16, 2017. Utilizing materials traditionally used for housing construction and domestic interiors, the artist formally addresses a range of cultural and societal hierarchies surrounding architecture, ranging from elements of design to issues of gentrification.
